Now THAT is cool! it also shows that a little skill and determination goes a LONG WAY!Granted, I didn't follow any particular style and the metal parts, (except for the barrel) are aluminum.
Being an AR guy, I wasn't very serious when I started the build, so I just used whatever I had in my garage.
Now I have to find somewhere to try it, as no one wants me at their indoor range.

I realize that the bell on the end of the barrel was to facilitate loading while onboard a careaning coach,
but what do you use to aim the darn things?
Yeah, they're quite a thing. Probably kick like a mule with a .62 cal. lead ball in it.The "firing mechanism" on that smokewagon is very similar to one on a 500 year-old Ottoman Turk thang my dad bought in Saudi Arabia in the late 1960s. It looks to be made of silver and has a goat's skull for its buttstock. Value unknown; probably very little. Most likely been a century-plus since it was last fired...
Then King George will have to take it off of you. Can't have the Colonials running-around with "deadly assault weapons," don't you know...I have fun shooting it.
