We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.
I've designed AP ammo, if using steel, usually you want something of substantially higher grade than is used for cut wire nails. I don't know if there was an increase in performance over a regular .308 round.
Usually, when we're doing ballistic tests on stuff, we use standard mediums, a common one is steel gusset plates as they're available from the local yard for a few dollars depending on thickness, and are always cut in 6x6". We put them on a rig with a spall shield that's backed with clay. Gives us a pretty good idea of what any new design will do vs existing standards.
If you're interested in DIY AP ammo, the "Dagny Dagger" is an interesting implementation. However, the dude who runs it is a complete aspie weirdo.
